Uncle Gary Lefebvre is a renown jazz sax soloist who has played with many great jazz players and band leaders including Howard Rumsey, Red Norvo, Mel Torme, Stan Kenton, Harry James, Dick Stabile, Chet Baker, Art Pepper, Louie Elison's Big Band, Nelson Riddle, Alvino Rey, Illinois Jacquet, as well as Chubby Jackson, Mose Allison, Red Rodney and Benny Hollman. On his current CD, Some Other Time, Gary plays with Leroy Vinnegar on bass, Frank Butler on drums and Kei Akagi on piano. All songs on the album were first takes. Especially unique and interesting is the totally improvised, unaccompanied last song of the Tenor Suite, Gary Alone.
